On the eve of St. Valentine's Day the Dara Foundation and the Marianna Gurina "Happy Families" Foundation held a special St. Valentine's Day celebration for the children from the Gladioli class at the Zhanuya specialized institute and the specialized school for children with behavioral disorders.

Recently, four pupils from school No. 5 for the hard of hearing, Abzal Satyekov, Rinat Yesimbyekov, Balgan Saimasayev and Abai Kadyrakynov, earned the title of Candidate for Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Mini-Football.

Since the start of the year the children from the Zhanuya specialized institute have been taking singing lessons under the watchful eye of experienced teacher Itakhun Tairovich. They are currently learning the song "Smuglyanka". The children take the lessons very seriously and they seem to be making a success of them. Every month, as part of the Mereke project, performers from the State Circus pay the children a visit. The Foundation would like to thank Valikhan Chelobanov and all of his circus virtuosos!

There is a lot of talk nowadays about stress. And it's not important how old you are - 13 or 40 - all of us get stressed! Tiredness, aggravation, deterioration in working capacity, increased susceptibility to illness are all negative consequences of stress.

The children from the Gladioli group continue to learn what makes a health way of life. At their latest session the boys and girls learnt how to make vegetable and fruit sandwiches. They thoroughly enjoyed cutting up the tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers and putting them on wooden skewers.

The Dara Foundation has been a close and reliable friend for more than five years to the Zhanuya Specialized Complex, in particular the Gladioli group. We celebrate holidays, go on excursions, cook tasty meals and watch movies with the boys and girls from our sponsored class.

Childhood is supposed to be the happiest of times, but sometimes little children can get sick, even suffer from cancer. From that moment on, for the children and their parents, the world becomes a hostile and foreign place. However, it is true that some wonderful things can happen, as there are a lot of kind people in the world!
