As part of the Deneker project, the Dara Foundation and DARUS Medical Centre have decided to help the children from the Specialized Correctional Comprehensive Boarding School No, 9 for children with serious speech impediments, such as harelips and cleft palates. According to its director, Bayan Suleimenova, all children receive three free operations to rectify the impediments, but which can leave terrible scars. Often parents are unable to afford plastic surgery, and their children are forced to live with their imperfections.

Thanks to donations, post-operation scars will be removed by high-class specialists from the DARUS Medical Centre. Two children will receive help free of charge. Fifteen-year old Kymbat Torekhan has already undergone laser treatment on her scars. Until a short while ago the Kymbat suffered from a terrible complex about her looks due to her harelip, and after her operation, terrible scars. In the future Kymbat will undergo two complex medical procedures after which the scars on her face will be almost invisible.
